SAKSHI MALIK BIOGRAPHY, OLYMPIC MEDALS AND AGE

Sakshi, who created history by winning a bronze medal in women’s wrestling at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has reached this place by fighting with society and family. Because a girl became a wrestler, neither it was acceptable to her parents nor to her wrestling grandfather. But on the strength of his strong will power, the last witness found what he wanted.

Birth and childhood:

Sakshi Malik was born on 03 September 1992 in Rohtak district of Haryana in a village called Mokhara Khas. Shortly after Sakshi’s birth, her mother Sudesh Malik got a job in anganwadi and father Sukhbir Malik became a bus conductor in Delhi. In such a situation, what happened to the witness. After much thought, Sakshi was left to her grandparents in the village, where she grew up and grew up.

Inspiration taken from Dada:

Sakshi’s grandfather was a famous wrestler of Badluram area. He had a big status in the surrounding area. Whoever comes to his house, he would greet him by saying ‘Pahlavan Ji, Namaste’ with Aihatram. The little witness was filled with joy upon hearing this. Gradually, there was a thought in his mind that if he too becomes a wrestler like his grandfather, then people will respect him in the same way.

Sakshi returned to her mother after being with her grandfather for seven years. But by then she had determined to become a wrestler. When the mother heard his wish, she was shocked. Her father and grandfather also opposed Sakshi, as she feared that her arms and legs might break in the course of wrestling. Everyone explained a lot to Sakshi, but Sakshi was not upset. And finally Sakshi’s housemates agreed to give him wrestling training.

Compete with boys:

At the age of twelve, Sakshi reached the Chhoturam Stadium in Rohtak, and learned the tricks of wrestling from the coach Ishwar Singh Dahiya. The coach faced a problem with whom he should be confronted, because in those days no girl used to wrestle. Seeing this, Sakshi decided to confront the boys. She not only fought wrestling with boys but also defeated them and thus she paved the way for her future.

Success trip:

Sakshi tasted her first big taste of wrestling success in 2014, when she won a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games 58 kg category. Subsequently, Sakshi competed in the 60 kg category at the Asian Championships held in Doha in 2015 and won a bronze medal. This raised Sakshi’s hopes and she was busy preparing for the Olympics.

Preparation for staying in Lucknow:

Witness had come to Lucknow in 2014 to prepare for her Olympics. It was here that she did extensive training with her trainers at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) training center. She practiced regularly for 8 hours a day and strictly followed her food and fitness rules. Ultimately, Sakshi’s passion and the hard work of the teachers paid off and Sakshi became the first female player to win a wrestling medal at the Olympics from India.

Awards

Seeing the success of Sakshi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced the Rani Laxmibai Award. This is the highest award given to women sportspersons in Uttar Pradesh, under which a prize of 3 lakh eleven thousand rupees is given.

Sakshi is receiving awards from all over for winning a silver medal in the Olympics. So far, it will be announced to give 2.5 lakh rupees by Haryana government, 1 crore rupees by Delhi government, 50 lakh rupees by Railways, 20 lakh rupees by Indian Olympic Association, 15 lakh rupees by JSW and 1 lakh one thousand rupees by Salman Khan.
